Last year: Trey Canard took the lead during the seventh of 20 laps and went on to win the 450 SX main event before an announced crowd of 47,671. Ryan Dungey took second and Chad Reed was third. It was Canard's first victory since he won at Cowboys Stadium on April 2, 2011, snapping a 58-race winless streak. Andrew Short led the first three laps before Reed overtook him in the fourth lap. Reed held that position before he had a mishap, allowing Canard to get past him. Malcolm Stewart won his first 250SX Class Main Event in his 36th career 250SX Class start. He won the 15-lap main event by 1.443 seconds over Cooper Webb. Stewart took over first place near the start of the seventh lap after Justin Hill fell off his bike, and was never threatened the rest of the way.

Notes: James Stewart, a two-time winner in Oakland, is scheduled to make his return to the 450SX class this weekend. Stewart, who was suspended for the entire 2015 season for testing positive for an amphetamine, was in the starting lineup for the first race of the season in Anaheim on Jan. 9 but was briefly knocked unconscious early in the main event. He nearly raced last week in Anaheim but decided to wait another week. ... Dungey, the 2015 450SX series champion, has won two straight main events and leads the 450SX standings with 72 points. Dungey, though, has never won in Oakland. Reed is second with 59 points and Jason Anderson, the winner of the season-opening race in Anaheim, is third with 57 points. ...
Last week in Anaheim, Dungey made his move in on Lap 3 to pass Davi Millsaps and went on to earn the 24th victory of his career. Dungey has finished on the podium 19 consecutive weeks dating to last season. ... Webb, who has won all three 250SX main events this season and carries an 18-point lead over Zach Osborne into this week.
